Stone-ground Organic Flour and Cornmeal
The farm to table movement has done a great job of connecting producers with their customers, but how many people know the farmer who grows the wheat for their flour or the corn for their cornmeal? Grains are a staple of our diets, and in the Driftless region we are able to grow quality grains to mill into flours and cornmeal. Our ridgetops are perfect for fields of wheat, spelt, oats, and the most ancient of North American grains, corn. As farmers, growing small grains allows us to to diversify and extend our crop rotation, and there's nothing more beautiful than those fields of amber waves.
We are proud to provide a product that is locally produced and is also farmer-owned. On our certified organic farm we grow several varieties of wheat, spelt, and open-pollinated flint corn which we have custom milled into flour and cornmeal by Lonesome Stone Milling in Lone Rock. Our goal is to provide our customers with a consistent, delicious, and nutritious product that they know was grown on healthy land by Driftless area farmers.
